The experienced staff with Smokefree Communities in Vanderburgh County, in partnership with the tobacco prevention and cessation coordinators from Gibson and Spencer Counties, are leading our tobacco-free living efforts. These efforts are geared toward protection from secondhand smoke for residents in multi-unit housing, campuses, and greenspaces.

We are also coordinating efforts to increase enrollment in the Quit Now Preferred Provider referral network, as well as promotion of the Indiana Tobacco Quitline (1-800-QUIT NOW), through our Champions wellness efforts as well as the Million Hearts® program, among others.

Youth involvement in tobacco-free living will be achieved through increased numbers of students taking part in VOICE (Indiana’s tobacco control youth empowerment movement).
